Touring Laoag City

After a 2 hour travel from Pagudpud back to Laoag City, the first thing we did was to grab some food. Super duper gutom na kami. Hehe. It was time for us to taste the famous Laoag Empanada. We asked a tricycle driver where is the best Laoag Empanada that we can eat. He brought us to the city food court, just at the back of Museo Ilocos Norte and in front of the Capitol.

Once we entered the food court, we felt like celebrities. Haha. Everyone was trying to have us as their customers. We ate at Delia's Store, second store from the entrance, and ordered two Double Special Laoag Empanada which costs P65.00 each. Double Special means it has two longganisa and two eggs in it. A bottle of Sparkle (P12.00/bottle) was a good choice to pair with the orange empanada.

After our nice merienda, we started touring around the so called Sunshine City. Since the historical marks are just close to each other, we just used our feet and started with the Museo Ilocos Norte which is just in front of the food court and has an entrance fee of P30.00 per person.

It's a good museum for the Ilocos Norte heritage, and the good thing is, you can actually take pictures inside. You just need to leave your bags at the counter area. All items have tags and brief details on it.

Next stop was the Tobacco Monopoly Monument which is in front of the Capitol, and the Capitol is just beside the Museo Ilocos Norte. It's actually the park facing the bridge entering Laoag City proper. Some folks are busy decorating their giant christmas tree at the park.

Facing the monument and the bridge direction, at your right is the Sinking Bell Tower. As I have said, everything was just a walking distance. The Bell Tower is like an old structure in the middle of a developed city street. It's hard to get a good picture of it because of the cable wires and the establishments.

It was just 4:00pm and our flight was scheduled to leave at 9:30pm. We still had 5 hours to kill time. It was still early, and we have completed our itinerary already so we have decided to go to...

Robinsons Ilocos Norte!!!

Haha. Yes, nag-mall na lang kami. Thank God there's a nice and clean mall sa Ilocos province. And the only way we thought of doing to kill time is to...

Watch My Amnesia Girl!!!

Oh yes! Why not! Haha. Bakit ba. Masaya ang movie. Pinatawa at pinakilig niya ako. Haha. I love you hubbee!!

But I made sure the products are made from Ilocos talaga or else, patay ako sa nanay ko. Mahigpit niyang bilin ang pasalubong at kailangan daw special. May ganun na ngayon ang mom ko.

After, since we still have time pa naman, we just had dinner.

Hehe. After our dinner, we left the mall and rented a tricycle going to the airport. We asked the driver if how much and he gave us a P120.00 price. I haggled for P80.00, he did not agree. He closed it to P100.00. Deal!

Malayo pala ang byahe from Robinsons to airport kaya nakunsensya naman ako. Kailangan good karma lang. Lilipad pa naman ako sa himpapawid. Hehe. In fairness sa kanya, nakipagtext pa sa akin while we were at the food court. Malungkot ang bata, nakipag text mate. Haha.

Terminal Fee at Laoag airport is P40.00 per person.

Ni-reminisce pa namin and tried to imitate yung mga kulit lines nang My Amnesia Girl. Pati mga paa, tsinelas, pinagtripan!

All in all, we had a super duper nice vacation. I asked hubbee what was the best part for him of the trip.

He said his top choice was the Bangui Windmills. It really amused him. Mine, and for the first time, and this is really not me on all of my travel adventures, the best part was the food. This is the first time the food I ate stood out, and we really spent so much on food in this trip. All of the activities and tours are fine actually but the food stood out. The bagnet, empanada, dinakdakan, margarita, and a lot more.

Sarap! Ang bilis nang araw. Tapos na ang vacation. Twas nice being away from your normal life. No work to worry about. And the best part was, you're with the one you love. One of the best monthsary celebration we had.

To hubbee, Happy Chapter XIV. I love you so much!!! The best travel partner. Sali na tayo sa Amazing Race Asia. Haha!!!
